Although I grew up in central Oklahoma, I recently moved to Arkansas after spending several years in Portland, Oregon. Outside of gardening with youth, I love to spend time playing outside, getting to know the native ecology of Arkansas, playing music with good friends, and eating food that is healthy for myself and our community.
I’m excited about the future of garden education and other forms of outdoor learning. As an educational tool, I believe the garden can teach students critical thinking, self-empowerment, healthy decision making, and so much more. I look forward to continuing my work in garden education this coming school year, teaching our students ways to connect with food and community, and learning from our students’ cultural and developmental experience.© 2010 Delta Garden Study
